Wondering where your up and go – up and went? Maybe you need help getting past the daily 3pm slump, staying alert in the evening, or grappling with the morning rush? You may be surprised to know that some simple changes to your diet and lifestyle could put the spring back into your step at these critical times.
A brief guided tour examining energy production from the smallest cell components through to hormones, organs and the processes of digestion and blood sugar regulation; then maximising meal potential to revitalise these dynamic activities. Macro and micro-nutrients, and functional foods and beverages, will also be topics of discussion.
On completion of this course participants will be able to
- Structure a daily energising eating plan, including specific food groups, to create balanced stamina and endurance for the day
- Develop an awareness of body health and lifestyle balance
Who should attend?
This course is designed for those of any age with either short or long term energy deficits, ranging from iron deficiency to overwork, and illness to sleep issues.
About the Presenter
Vicki Martin-MacKay, DipHSc, Registered Dietitian
Vicki is a Registered Dietitian with many years of nutritional counselling and teaching experience. She works part-time as a consultant for healthfood companies and is also in private practice specialising in assisting those with challenging health conditions utilising both integrative nutrition and complementary medicine approaches. Vicki has completed a naturopathic diploma and studied traditional Chinese medicine extensively in China and Japan. Currently she is studying towards a Post-Graduate Diploma of Health Sciences at the University of Auckland and strives to bring a balance of both clinical experience and evidence based study to her practice and teaching.
